Genre
What is genre
These features that relate to a certain type of genre might be, that a specific setting, dialogue, sound, characters and editing. Audiences can recognise those features and so can expect some main things. For example, at the finale for a rom com the two main characters stereotypically realise they love each other.
How and why is it used?
Genre is used so it can set rules and guidance for an audience so they can find out what type of movie genre that they like best. it is also to set up expectations. how they use this is buy using advertising to show off to a certain type of audience what the film is going to be about.
What is sub-genre?
A sub-genre is a category of a certain genre put into a movie which already has a main genre from the start. The benefits of using sub-genres are that it can offer a deeper meaning to the audience. To keep a movie always sticking to one lane to a certain genre could make the film boring which then may make the audience go of that certain type of genre. Therefore, it’s good for the institutions to have a few different ideas.
What is Hybrid Genre?
A hybrid Genre is the combination of two or sometimes more stylistic themed categories. for example a Rom-Com is a type of Hybrid genre as you have two main Genre's that have been blended into one to create a whole new separate genre.

Film Industry Research (belstone pictures)
the Ceo of Belstone Pictures originally studied at Hurtwood House, where he did Film academy where he found a passion for producing and directing. He left Hurtwood and then finally founded his company 'Belstone Pictures in the year of 2012. Then left the company in 2016. their headquarters are based in the UK in chelsea. The company now has been running for over 9 years since its open in 2012. Finn also now owns a company called FCB productions in owning this company he is able to use them for their movies with Belstone and doesn't have to charge money as he owns it.
What are their Biggest Box office success
1. Tucked which came out in 2018 made from the worldwide box office only $23,089 and the Budget of this film is unknown.
2. another film that was released by Belstone Pictures was a film called Tank 432 which at worldwide box office managed to make up £150,000 pounds but sadly wasn't a very good film, the budget for this film is unknown.
the Top film they have had recently was Tucked due to the pandemic Belstone Pictures were unable to release anymore films. they were fortunate enough to release a new film in 2021 called Paul Dood's Deadly Lunch Break.
Belstone tend to use the same actors as there are quite unknown so they hope that they could give them a breakthrough also the actors don't mind the pay they get as for example Chris Evans salary is a lot higher than the actors for Tucked would be.
the Disadvantage that Belstone Pictures face is that as they don't own as many companies as Disney they could run into real problems with copyright issues and as there are a small business they don't have the facilities or the money for the facilities to pay for lots of crew and equipment unlike Disney.
belstone have a few Films at the moment that are set to be released or in early stages of pre-production.
Film Industry research (Disney)
How did the studio come about?
Walt Disney created 'The Walt Disney Company' within a small office in Los Angeles. In 1923 Walt Disney and his brother Roy founded the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in Hollywood, California. Today Disney has had a giant impact into the entertainment world and has now become one of the most successful media companies in the world. The company has now been running for 98 years. Walt and Roy started their collection of short animation films and Live actions and were previously called 'Alice Comedies'. during the four months of these films being released the staff for Walt began to grow which allowed them to move to a larger studio in 1925.
Walt Disney began a animated film in 1927 which featured a small mouse driving steamboat. this was released a year later in 1928, and was known as the animation 'Steamboat Willie' which to this day, at the start of some of Disney's movies they still use that same animation. A year later Walt Disney released their first short film with Mickey Mouse speaking his catch phrase "Hot Dogs!" which was called 'The Carnival kid'. Also today the main face of Disney has become Mickey Mouse.
Who owns the company? Do they own anything else as well? if so how could this help the studio?
Disney was first owned by the creator Walt Disney from 1923 to 1966 which was the year that he had sadly passed away. After Walt sadly passed his brother Roy who started the Walt Disney Company, with Walt. Roy soon died in 1971 and his wife gave it to his son in law in the late 80's Ron who became CEO.
Today Disney now own most of the entertainment business this is able to help them by branding other films and the use of copyright as they will have the claims to those companies. which has massive advantages so that they don't have to pay those companies so Disney are able to save lots of money.

Disney's post production films
How does the mise-en-scene and camera angle/composition within the poster communicate concepts and connotations to the audience?
From this movie poster I get a clear idea that this film is going to consist of very few 2 at max. I think this from the quote at the top of the poster that says, “I’m so sorry Paul”. What I really like about this poster is that even though the character can’t see where he is neither can the audience which makes us feel like the character in the box, as we want to know where he is located. The style in which the title is wrote in I find very interesting and enticing to the film, this is because it looks like it has been carved into the poster, which could be showing the audience that the character is trapped.
The setting for this film, which the audience will be able to tell from the poster is that the setting in this film is going to be very limited probably only to where the man is. Along with the camera angle of this poster, which is a long shot, it shows the isolation this character is in and will most likely be in for the film. The lighting in this poster again shows the amount of isolation that this character is going to be in during the film. The use of the orange illuminesent lighter is to imply that there is the smallest hope for this character to resolve the situation that he is in and gives the sense of success.
The costume the character is wearing in this poster looks very dirty and torn up, this could be suggesting maybe he was kidnapped, and they put him in some horrible clothes so that he would have had nothing which would have belonged to him I get a sense that he has been kidnapped this is because he has a gag around his mouth along with tied up hands which to the audience is suggesting that he is in danger. Along with the character’s costume we can see from is facial expressions that he is shocked and that he could be scared which makes sense as he doesn’t know where he is.
The position of the character lying down, shows that during this film there is not going to be much movement which in a way is very clever as it will make the audience be in the moment with the character, and whatever is happening to him us as the audience in a way will be feeling the same way that he is feeling while he is trapped.
The genre In this film in my opinion is going to either be a horror or a thriller, or it could even be a combination of both this is because the vagueness of the poster shows to the audience of how much we don’t know about what is around him, it leaves us in a suspenseful way as we are eager to try and find out what has happened in this movie which has led to the point that the poster has showed.
A potential plot for this film that I think it could be is about a blackmail. I get this feeling from the quote as all we know is someone is sorry for something they did but us as the audience doesn’t know what which will manage to entice people who have seen this poster as they will want to know what situation has happened which could have led this man to be in a box in the darkness. Another plot for this film could be about the man awakes in the box which looks like a wooden coffin, with little more than a lighter which we could imply from the man holding the lighter in the poster, and his ever-growing anxiety as he has no clue what to do in the situation he is in. he could also be faced with a dwindling oxygen supply which adds to the ever-growing anxiety and horror because he will be pancaking. So, he must fight panic, as he awaits a rescue that may not arrive in time. Which if the director only uses camera angles in the coffin it will add to the suspense as we would only know as much as him so we wouldn’t know if he would be anywhere near to being rescued by anyone.
I think this film would suit people who are invested in mysteries and films that will manage to keep you on the edge of your seat all the way throughout the film from start to finish. All the use of lighting/colour and costume/facial expressions in this poster are all the use of mise-en-scene, which is able to try and give the audience a little into the film without actually giving anything away and also to make the audience ask questions about the poster about what the film could be about.
