How is the Genre conveyed?
Grease: With this opening title sequence we are greeted with a song which we can tell is the soundtrack, this is very upbeat and eve
n includes the name of the film of the film in the song.

We can tell from the animated Character dancing along to the music that this film is a musical. By showing the girl dancing around her room, and as these are the two first characters introduced to us 'as Danny and Sandy' we can tell that this genre will have an element of love by using juxtaposition between them.
Another was of showing to us the genre of this film is using the word "as" giving a musical vibe and performance on stage. having a fun and upbeat intro help to convey to the genre of the film. Also by showing the caricatures of the characters also tie into the fact the genre could be a musical as theatre is always over exaggerated.
We also know that this show is horror as it physically says "Horror" in the title with a gothic font to support it. There are dark, iconic horror imagery, for example skulls, blood, knifes, and what looks to be like organs in glass jars.
Grease: The key titles that appear through the title sequence would be the company that produced the film which we see at the very start which is 'Paramount Pictures'.
The second title we see which is also key to the film is the title for the film which dominates the entire screen. The main characters as well dominates the screen showing to us who are the important people in the cast including 'Danny, Sandy, Rizzo and Kenickie'. Another critical mention in the title sequence id the mention of who the film is produced by which was Robert Stigwood, and Alan Carr, and Directed by Randal Kleiser.
American Horror Story: In this opening sequence we are introduced to a few titles but not the normal 21 which you would normally see in a film or a tv show. we see in this sequence the main title which arrives at the end of the sequence along who are the creators of the show who are Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk
We are also shown a few names the first one who is 'Connie Britton' we can assume that she is the main character in this show followed By Dylan Mcdermott, and Even Peters.
Grease:The tone of this film is set as an upbeat and happy feel good film. I get a sense of this because of the reference they make towards Disney. With Sandy when she gets out of her bed we get a real Disney princess vibe, with the the little animated animals coming to help her get ready giving off a cinderella or snow white impression.
American Horror story: The title sequence of this creates a very unsettling tone for the audience with all the odd sounds that make up the disturbing intro to the show. The POV flashlight implies that there is someone searching around the house giving off a tone of mystery.
Grease: The font in this sequence look like it has been styled for the time which this is set which seems to be the 1950s, because the title sequence includes Elvis Presley and Madelyn Monroe in it and also has a thunderbirds reference which are all relevant to the time, we can also tell by this that this film is going to be set in the USA, showing a high school. and using Iconic imagery and their costumes and props to give off the time period.
American Horror Story: There is a sense that this shoe is modern and old going back from the past to the present throughout we get this impression from the old pictures we see of babies throughout. Again from the title we know the location of this show is 'America' as it says it inside of the title. and set what looks to be in the basement of a house.
Grease: From the amount of cars they show in the title sequence we can imply that the film is going to have a lot of cars featuring and they will play an adamant role throughout. Sense of rebellious teenagers from the smoking and running away from the police allows us to think that these characters are outlaws. There is a sense of conflict between the two main characters from the rooms that Sandy and Danny wake up in as they are completely opposite to each other.
American Horror Story: There isn't a lot to say about the narrative so but taking a idea from what we are given i think it may be about a killer i get this impression from when we see hands holding onto bars as if they trapped and have been kidnapped. We also see shadows of a figure which we can assume is a bad guy in the show.
Grease: The high school we see at the end of the sequence that has a cross fade into the real world also embeds that this story is going to be about teenagers. 'Danny' who we meet first at the start tells us that he is going to be the main character of the film, who is lazy and we can tell that he is going to be the leader of the gang, he also creates the title of the film. And secondly we meet Sandy who is going to be the love interest of Danny in the film.
American horror story: There is not a lot to talk about characters, but we can tell that there is a killer because of the blood splattered around the picture of young children and the quick shot of the hands holding onto metal bars without showing her face. The white dress impies the innocence of a character maybe a child in the show we may meet.
